R.A.S.C. Training College. -The reduction in the Establishment is due (i) to the transfer of responsibility to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps for mechanical transport vehicles, other than those operated by the Royal Army Service Corps, (see p. 239) and (ii) to the transfer of the training of artificer boys to the Boys' Technical School and School of Electric Lighting. Other Schools and Colleges. -The increase is due to the inclusion in the School of Electric Lighting of 200 boys for training in various trades, who were formerly included in Regimental Establishments. Technical and Inspection Establishments. - The increase is due (i) to the transfer from Regimental Establishments of certain R.A. and R.E. personnel and (ii) to an increase in the Mechanical Warfare Experimental Establishment as a result of the transfer of experimental duties from the R.A.S.C. Training College. Colonial and Indian Troops. For details see p. 27. The reduction is due to the transfer to the Royal Air Force of the responsibility for the defence of Aden. (See p. 211.) China, This item covers the additional numbers required in excess of normal establishments provided for above in consequence of the presence of extra troops in China, but no money provision for this is included in these Estimates.
