CHAP. III.

An Act in addition to an Act entitled An Act regulating Fisheries.

§ 1. BE it enacted by the Governour and Council and

House of Representatives in General Court assembled, That no person or persons shall set, or draw any seine, or net, or other fish-craft, for the purpose of taking fish in Taunton pond, in the town of Newtown, on penalty of forfeiting the sum of thirty-four dollars, the one half to the use of him who shall sue for and prosecute the same to effect, and the other half to the treasury of the town of Newtown.

§ 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall continue in force for three years and no longer. General Assembly, May Session, 1815.

CHAP. IV.

An Act repealing part of an Act entitled "An Act in addition to, and alteration of the statute entitled an Act for forming and conducting the Military Force of this State," passed October 1814.

An Act prescribing the form of the oath, for the
Treasurer of this State.

E it enacted by the Governour and Council and

bled, That the form of the oath to be taken by the Form of Treas treasurer of this state, shall be as follows, viz. You urer's oath. A. B. being chosen treasurer for the state of Connecticut, for the year ensuing, do swear, that you will faithfully execute the duties of that office, according to your best skill, and judgment, and the laws of this state relating thereto. So help you God.

An Act for regulating Salaries and Fees.

E it enacted by the Governour and Council and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, That the fees for attendance in the General assembly for each day, shall be three dollars for an assistant, and two dollars for a representative.

An Act relating to the Military Corps raised for the defence of the State.

§ 1. BE it enacted by the Governour and Council and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, That the military corps raised for the defence of the State during the late war between the United States and Great-Britain, having become dissolved the restoration of peace, shall be and remain mili

State Corps to tia, organized in the same manner as when they were remain militia, engaged in the service of this State, until the rising of the General Assembly in October next, and shall be liable to do duty as militia during that time, and they shall be liable to the same penalties for non-cquipment and for non-attendance on training days, and shall be entitled to an exemption of their polls from taxation in the same manner as by law is provided for the militia, and they shall not be liable during said time to do duty elsewhere; Provided however, That they shall not be called out for discipline but by companies without the order of the Commander in Chief; and further provided, that nothing herein contained shall interfere with any arrangements already made by the Commander in Chief for annexing any part of said corps to the ordipary militia as artillery companies.

An Act in addition to and alteration of an Act entitled" an Act to prevent passing counterfeit bills of credit, coins, or currencies and emitting and passing bills on private credit, and to prevent injustice by passing counterfeit bills or coins."

§ 1. Be it further enacted, That if any person or persons, or corporation, shall vend, utter or pass any bill of credit, bond, promissory writing or note, bill of exchange, or order made, signed, drawn or endorsed as aforesaid, either in this or the neighbouring states to be used and improved as aforesaid, except bills or notes issued by the incorporated banks in the said statesthe said person, persons, or corporation so offending shall forfeit to the treasury of the town or county in Forfeiture... which such offence is committed, treble the sum or value expressed in such bond, note, bill, order, or other currency, the one half to him, or them who shall prosecute the same to effect, and the other half to the treasnry of the town, when the trial shall be before an assis- How to be tant or justice, and to the county treasury, when it shall disposed of. be before the county court.
