PROCEEDINGS.

SEMI-ANNUAL MEETING OF THE NEBRASKA STATE BOARD OF AGRICULTURE.

LINCOLN, NEB., Sept. 13, 1888.

By order President Barker, the Board met at the City Hall, Vice-President McDowell presiding, Robt. W. Furnas, Secretary.

On roll call, the following members of the Board were present: McDowell, McIntyre, Webster, Piasecki, Bowen, Furnas, Barnes, Dinsmore. On motion, roll call of counties was dispensed with. Being so few members present, the Board adjourned to meet at this place tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock.

LINCOLN, NEB., Sept. 14, 1888.

Board met pursuant to adjournment, President Barker presiding, Robt. W. Furnas, Secretary.

On roll call, the following members were present: Kent, McIntyre, McDowell, Barker, Greer, Hayward, Bowen, Furnas, Jensen, Barnes, Dinsmore, Henry, Hughes, Barstow, Humphrey.

The following county societies were represented: Fillmore, J. Jensen; Hayes, J. S. Hughes; Jefferson, J. B. McDowell; Platte, R. H. Henry.

On motion of Mr. McIntyre, S. M. Barker was appointed Delegate to District Fair Association, to meet at Chicago in November next, his actual necessary expenses to be paid by this State Board. As Robt. W. Furnas is President of the said District Association, it was ordered, on motion McIntyre, that his actual necessary expenses be paid also. Mr. McIntyre was selected by vote of the Board as alternate for Barker.

J. B. Dinsmore, on vote of the Board, was selected as delegate to the American Short-horn Association, and National Fair Association, to meet at Chicago in November next, his expenses to be paid by this Board.

On motion of Mr. Greer, it was ordered that the President appoint a committee to revise the Premium List, Rules and Regulations of this Board, said committee to be appointed at least 30 days before the next annual meeting of this Board in January, 1889.

On motion, it was decided that the Nebraska State Fair claim dates as heretofore, the week following the Iowa State Fair in 1889.

Mr. Jensen, as Chairman of committee to procure permanent rooms for State Board in the new Capitol Building, Lincoln, was given further time to make final report.

On motion of Mr. McIntyre, the President was instructed to appoint a committee of three to visit and report on the State Agricultural Farm. Committee to be appointed at pleasure of the President.

The President in due time appointed as this committee, Robt. W. Furnas, Ed. McIntyre, and J. Jensen. See the report in the proceedings of the State Board, January meeting, 1889.

On motion, the blankets purchased for and used by the band during the Fair, were donated to the Home of the Friendless, at Lincoln, and Mr. Humphrey was authorized to present them in the name of this Board.
