Страница 381 - Now, while the ligament is held taut, with its loop end a quarter or third of an inch above the surface of the fascia, a catgut suture is passed through it, including the tissues on either side, and back again, where it is tied. This is cut close to the knot, the suspending thread cut on one side close to the ligament and withdrawn, and the volsella and retractor removed. The other side is dealt with in like manner and the abdominal incision closed.
