It will be observed by these figures that it will require $25,000 to place the property on its feet, financially. It was said by visitors during the last Fair that it would eventually be the finest piece of property in the State. The ground has nearly all been ploughed and is ready for cultivation. Trees should be planted this coming Spring grass sown also.

In view of the fact that each Fair held outrivals the previous one in attendance and exhibits, it will be necessary to build more stalls for animals and more room should be made in the Pavilion. Notwithstanding there were 225 stalls for animals, there were not enough, as exhibitors had to take their stock to the town for want of accommodation at the grounds. There is no doubt, in my mind, but that the premium list for cattle, horses, agriculture, horticulture and mechanics should be doubled—it would give a new life to all the departments.

For full details as to the receipts and disbursements of the late Fair, and also the building and improvements, I respectfully refer you to the accompanying statements. Very respectfully,

Addenda.-It has been decided by the Board to hold the next Annual Fair six days, beginning Monday, September 30, and ending October 5, 1889. Please observe herewith report of the Secretary of Lyon County District Agricultural Association, Fifth District. No reports could be obtained from Ormsby County District No. 1, and Humboldt County District Association.

Military Shooting Contest on Wednesday, September 19th, resulted as follows:

Carson Guard-First premium; made 386 points.

Emmet Guard-Second Premium; made 365 points.
National Guard-Third Premium; made 318 points.
Reno Guard-Third premium; made 297 points.

The above record was made with teams of twenty men each, five shots, 200 yards.

BICYCLE RACES.

In the quarter-mile race, C. F. Jaques awarded silver medal.
In the half-mile race, L. D. Breuner awarded gold medal.

In the one-mile, championship of Nevada, Harry Thaxter awarded gold medal; C. M. Fassett, silver medal.

In half-mile and repeat race, H. Upson awarded gold medal.

In the "slow race, H. Upson awarded Reno Gazette for one year by the proprietors; George Stokes awarded gold sleeve buttons by R. Herz.
