AIL; lovely Anna! thou whose potent charms

Have bound my heart in Friendship’s facred bonds, H

Join'd with the purest Love by Reason fix'd;

Not such as oft the youthful changeling feels,
Who builds ideal hopes of future bliss
On the frail basis of a beauteous form,
Without a mind to raise it from the dust :
Thee, dearest fair-one, shall my Muse address,
While, in her noblest strains, the humbly fings--
(Or strives to fing) -THE JOY'S OF WEDDED LOVE!

_Delightful ftate! when the enraptur'd youth
Beholds the fair for whom he long has figh'd,
And often fear'd to lose, by rivals press’d,
Now ready to receive his plighted vows,
And seal his future bliss! With joy elate,
He views his glorious prize ; and only fears
Too soon to wake, and find it all a dream,
