It is probable that a much greater energy of radiation might be obtained by means of the concentrated rays of the electric lamp. Such rays falling on a thin metallic disk, delicately suspended in a vacuum, might perhaps produce an observable mechanical effect.

They give out this heat again and with it some of that energy which enables them to withstand his attraction. Slowly he draws them to himself and at last they unite with him and end their separate existence.
