THE object of the following TOUR through ENGLAND is sufficiently explained in the opening Letter. The correspondence having fallen into the hands of some partial friends, they unanimously requested the Writer to lay it before the public; and to their wish he has assented, proposing to himself no other reward than the gratfication of giving a harmless pleasure to others; if any thing he has writen can be capable of producing that efect.

He is literally a JUVENILE TOURIST; and should this mite be received with indulgence, he may probably be encouraged in future, to make more valuable offerings to his readers.

The favour of the public having brought this little Work to a SECOND EDITION, the Author has carefully revised the whole, as a testimony of gratitude for the encouragement he has experienced.

Since the first publication of his TOUR THROUGH ENGLAND, he has made one or two more on the same plan, in different parts of the British Islands; but as his sole object in describing what fell under his notice, has been to please his nearest and dearest connections, he wishes to be cautious in obtruding on others, wha might possibly lose much of its interest with less partial readers than those for whom his observations were originally designed.
