PREFACE.

THE following pages have been written with the view of meeting the wishes of those who have observed with regret the paucity of books suitable for young females of the middle and lower classes, at an important period of their lives.

It is hoped this little Work may prove the medium of salutary explanations of the solemn nature and beneficial results of Confirmation, and may help to enforce the obligations of the baptismal vow.

May the Divine blessing be bestowed on this humble attempt to promote the spiritual welfare of our fellow-creatures!
