enclosure a rhombus, the opposite angles of
which are respectively two-thirds and four-thirds
of a right angle. Two equilateral triangles are
divided off by partition walls at each end of the
long diameter, leaving a sexagon in the centre,
in which radiating wards and worksheds and
division walls are placed; in the triangles are
respectively the hospital, and the women's, boys',
and European prisoners' wards in course of
construction; prisoners accommodated in tem-
porary huts; frequently overcrowded.
(Pucca. Original jail a parallelogram. Wards
form three sides of a quadrangle; between the
outer sides of the buildings and the outer wall
division walls provide separate yards for clas-
sification. An addition to the outer wall en-
closing the jute mills has recently been con-
structed.
