IO GOD is our Sun, he makes our Day; GOD is our Shield, he guards our Way From all th' Affaults of Hell and Sin, From Foes without and Foes within..
All needful Grace will God bestow, And crown that Grace with Glory too: He gives us all Things, and withholds No real Good from upright Souls.
12 O GOD, our KING, whofe fov'reign Sway The glorious Hofts of Heav'n obey, And Devils at thy Prefence flee;
Bleft is the Man that trufts in Thee.
LORD of the Worlds above,
How pleafant and how fair
The Dwellings of thy Love, Thy earthly Temples are. To thine Abode
My Heart afpires, With warm Defires To fee my GOD.
2 The Sparrow for her Young, With Pleasure, feeks a Neft; And wand'ring Swallows long To find their wonted Reft: My Spirit faints With equal Zeal, To rife and dwell Among thy Saints.
3. O happy Souls that pray Where GOD appoints to hear! O happy Men that pay
Their conftant Service there! They praise Thee ftill; And happy they
That love the Way
To Zion's Hill!
4 They go from Strength to Strength, Through this dark Vale of Tears, Till Each arrives at length, Till Each in Heav'n appears: O glorious Seat, When GOD our King Shall thither bring Our willing Feet!
5 TO spend one facred Day Where GOD and Saints abide, Affords diviner Joy
Than Thoufand Days befide. Where GOD reforts
I love it more
To keep the Door
Than fhine in Courts.
6 GOD is our Sun and Shield, Our Light and our Defence; With Gifts his Hands are fill'd, We draw our Bleflings thence; He fhall beftow
On Jacob's Race Peculiar Grace And Glory too.
3 The LORD his People loves; His Hand no Good withholds From those his Heart approves, From pure and pious Souls: Thrice happy he, O God of Hofts, Whofe Spirit trusts. Alone in THEE.
ORD, thou haft call'd thy Grace to mind, Thou haft revers'd our heavy Doom; So Gop forgave when Ifrael finn'd,
And brought his wand'ring Captives home.
2 Thou haft begun to fet us free, And made thy fierceft Wrath abate; Now let our Hearts be turn'd to Thee, And thy Salvation be compleat.
3 Revive our dying Graces, LORD, And let thy Saints in Thee rejoice; Make known thy Truth, fulfil thy Word; We wait for Praise to tune our Voice.
4 We wait to hear what GOD will fay; He'll speak, and give his People Peace: But let them run no more aftray, Left his returning Wrath increase.
5 SALVATION is for ever nigh The Souls that fear and truft the LORD;; And Grace defcending from on high, Fresh Hopes of Glory fhall afford.
6 Mercy and Truth on Earth are met,
Since CHRIST the LORD came down from Heav'n By his Obedience so compleat,
Juftice is pleas'd, and Peace is giv'n.
7 Now Truth and Honour fhall abound, Religion dwell on Earth again,
And heav'nly Influence blefs the Ground, In our REDEEMER'S gentle Reign.
8 Pure Righteoufnefs (her healing Wing Expanding) down to Earth defcends Prepares thy Way, eternal KING! And all thy Children's Steps attends..
To my Complaint, O LORD my GOD, Th ygracious Ear incline;
Hear me, diftreft and destitute
Of all Relief but Thine.
2 To me, who daily Thee invoke, Thy Mercy, LORD, extend:
Refresh thy Servant's Soul, whofe Hopes On Thee alone depend.
3. Thou LORD art good, not only good, But prompt to pardon too;
Of plenteous Mercy to all thofe Who for thy Mercy fue.
4 Thee will I praise, O LORD my Gon, Praife Thee with Heart fincere ;
And to thy ever-glorious Name Eternal Trophies rear.
For Thou thy conftant Goodness didft To my Affiftance bring;
Of Patience, Mercy, and of Truth The everlasting SPRING.
OD in his earthly Temple lays Foundations for his heav'nly Praise :
He likes the Tents of Jacob well, But ftill in Zion loves to dwell.
2 His Mercy vifits every House
That pay their Night and Morning Vows; But makes a more delightful Stay Where Churches meet to praife and pray..
3 What Glories were defcrib'd of old! What Wonders are of Zion told! Thou City of our GOD below,
Thy Fame fhall Tyre and Egypt know..
4 Egypt and Tyre, and Greek and Jew, Shall there begin their Lives anew: Angels and Men fhall join to fing The Hill where living Waters spring.
5. When GOD makes up his laft Account Of Natives in his holy Mount, "Twill be an Honour to appear As one new born or nourish'd there.
Y SAVIOUR GOD, by Night, by Day
M To Thee I pour my Cries;
Let my fad Plaints, while thus I pray, Before thy Throne arife.
