CHAPTER I.

AN ACT to amend section nine of article III of chapter 2,
of the Compiled Statutes.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That section 9 of article III of chapter 2, of the Compiled Statutes be amended so as to read as follows:

SEC. 9. It shall be unlawful for any stock to Exception to run at large upon the lands designated in sections Comp. Stat., 51 seven and eight of this act, at any season of the year, except as exempted by section ten of this act; Provided, That the operation of this act shall not extend to the counties of Dakota and Dixon; Provided further, That it is the intention of this act to extend all the provisions of the original act entitled "An act to protect cultivated lands from tresspass by stock," approved March 8, 1871, to all the territory within this state not specially exempted by the provisions of said original act, and this act.

SEC. 2. That section nine of article III, of Repealing chapter 2, of the Compiled Statutes as hereto

fore existing, be and the same hereby is repealed.

CHAPTER 2.

Suspending the law.

AN ACT to amend section 10, article III, chapter 2, Com-
piled Statutes of 1881; entitled "Agriculture."

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That section 10 of article III, of chapter 2, Compiled Statutes of 1881, entitled "Agriculture," be amended to read as follows:

SEC. 10. The operation of this law may be Comp. Stat., 51 suspended within any county in this state in the manner hereinafter provided; whenever the qualified voters of any county in this state desire to have the operation of this law suspended within said county, and a majority of said voters shall apply by petition to the county commissioners of said county, praying for an election to be called for such purpose, it shall be the duty of said county commissioners to submit, at the next general or special election, to the qualified voters of said county, a proposition for the suspension of the operation of said law within said county, which proposition shall be in form, as follows:

"For suspension of herd law." "Against suspension of herd law."
