BELGIUM.-THE PARK, BRUSSELS.

IN continuity, we must occasionally speak of the Capital of Belgium itself, and we now present a most interesting view of THE PARK of Brussels. Who that lounges, whether on horse-back, in a carriage, or on foot, through our magnificent suburban Parks, would not desire a stroll in this simple yet lovely domain, with its delightful view through the avenue, of the distant scene of rising country?

While we speak of its lovely simplicity, be it borne in mind that we speak of the true classic simplicity: for, strange as it may appear, this Park is perhaps coeval in age with the city!-has had its "Capability Browns" and its Ramsays, &c.; but it can boast of more than one, from having been brought to its present state in the last century, and having therefore bestowed on it statues, busts, vases, &c. (some by eminent artists), of great beauty, and properly placed.

Then we must add, that from a central mound of the choicest shrubs and flowers, diverge three principal walks, variegated by all arboretic delights, to the King's Palace, Boulevard de Regent, and Place Royale, with which their noble mansions, principal cafés, &c. form a truly noble approach.

It should not be omitted that, embosomed in trees, is here a little. Vauxhall and a Theatre infinitely superior to anything attempted at

our own. The injury done to these beauties by the artillery of the last revolution is fast wearing away, and new beauties springing up with every season. Even in winter, fashionables are provided for here by a good café and ball-room.

Tell her to give her fondest dream,

When warm hearts beat, and moist eyes gleam,
(Not won by gold,)

Her Heavenward thought-whate'er it seem,

Is all untold.
