14 My foul fave from the wicked man, From men which are thy hand, O Lord, from worldly men me fave, Which only in this prefent life their part and portion have : Whofe belly with thy treasure hid thou fill'ft they children have In plenty, of their goods the rest they to their children leave. ̈ 15 But as for me, I thine own face in righteousness will fee: And with thy likeness, when I wake, T Hee will I love, O Lord, my ftrength. My rock, and he that doth to me deliverance afford: My God, my strength, whom I will truft, a buckler unto me, The horn of my falvation, and my high tow'r is he. 2 3 Upon the Lord, who worthy is And then fhall, I preferved be 4 Floods 1 4 5 . Floods of ill men affrighted me, death's fnares did me prevent. 6 In my distress I call'd on God, cry to my God did I: 7 He from his temple heard my voice, Th' earth, as affrighted, then did shake, The hills foundations moved were, 8 Up from his noftrils came a fioke, 9 He also bowed down the heav'ns, 10 And he upon a cherub rode, Yea, on the fwift wings of the wind 11 He darkness made his fecret place: Dark waters were, and thickeft clouds 12 And at the brightness of that light which was before his eye, His thick clouds past away, hail-stones and coals of fire did fly. 13 The Lord God alfo in the heav'ns did thunder in his ire, And there the Highest gave his voice, 4' Yea, he his arrows fent abroad, 15 The waters channels then were feen, 16 And from above the Lord fent down, and took me from below, From many waters he me drew, 17 He me reliev'd from my strong foes, Because he faw that they for me 18 They me prevented in the day But, even then, the Lord himself D 2 19 He 19 He to a place where liberty and room was, hath me brought: 20 According to my righteoufness 23 Sincere before him was my heart. 24 After my righteoufnefs the Lord After the cleanness of my hands 25 Thou gracious to the gracious art, 26 Pure to the pure, froward thou kyth'ft unto the froward wight. 27 For thou wilt the afflicted fave, But wilt bring down the countenance 28 The Lord will light my candle fo, that it fhall fhine full bright; The Lord my God will alfo make my darkness to be light. 29 By thee through troops of men I break, and them difcomfit all: And, by my God affifting me, 30 As for God, perfect is his way; He is a buckler to all thofe 31. Who but the Lord is God? but he 32 It's God that girdeth me with ftrength, and perfect makes my way. 33 He made my feet fwift as the hinds, fet me on my high places. 34 Mine hands to war he taught, mine arms brake bows of steel in pieces, 35 The fhield of thy falvation thou didst on me bestow: Thy right hand held me up, and great thy kindness made me grow. 36 And in my way, my fteps thou haft That I go fafely; and my feet 37 Mine |
