IN MEMORIAM.

In the death of Governor John S. Marmaduke there is occasion for an expression on the part of the Board of Agriculture, in view of the great interest shown by him in the Agriculture of the State, he having been a native Missourian, being the first native born Governor the State has had, also having been the son of a Missouri farmer and at one time officially connected with this Board and the editor of an agricultural journal:

Resolved, That we feel called on to join our fellow citizens in expressing sincere regret on the removal of Governor Marmaduke from his high official place in the midst of his administration, marked by a painstaking and unswerving integrity, but would bow reverently and submissively to the Allwise Providence who has so ordered.

Resolved, That we extend to the family of the deceased our sympathy in their bereavement, and would commend them and all our State interests to Him who careth for us.
