TESTIMONY OF NEWTON BARR MILLER, ATTORNEY, NATIONAL

LABOR RELATIONS BOARD, WASHINGTON, D. C.
(The witness was duly sworn and testified as follows:)
Mr. TOLAND. Will you give the reporter your full name, Mr.
Miller?

Mr. MILLER. Newton Barr Miller.
Mr. TOLAND. Where do you reside, Mr. Miller!

Mr. MILLER. My residence here in Washington or my permanent residence ?

Mr. TOLAND. Both.

Mr. MILLER. My home is at Monmouth, Ill. I am residing at present here in Washington at 2120 Huidekoper Place.

Mr. TOLAND. And what is your present occupation?

Mr. MILLER. I am an attorney for the National Labor Relations Board.

Mr. TOLAND. How long have you been employed by the Board ?
Mr. MILLER. Since May 1, 1939.
Mr. TOLAND. And what is the rate of compensation you receive?
Mr. MILLER. $2,600 per year.

Mr. TOLAND. Now, will you tell the committee briefly where you were born, the schools and colleges you attended in your prior professional or business career

Mr. MILLER. I was born in Illinois at the town of Monmouth; I was educated in the public schools there and attended Monmouth College, where I received a bachelor's degree. I went to the Uni
