After due consideration of the subject by the Senate and House committee we mutually agree to recommend that the parts of the lines 8 and 10 of the engrossed copy which read: "one-sixteenth" as passed by the House and amended to read: "three-sixteenths," and passed the Senate, be made to read: "one-eighth," and trust that this report will be adopted.

Mr. Guernsey moved that the Senate do adopt the report of said conference committee on H. B. No. 78, by Mr. Roberts, "providing for the erection of a residence for the governor," and concur in the amendments proposed by said committee.

A roll call being had on the motion to concur therein, the same prevailed by the following vote:

CONSIDERATION OF BILLS ON GENERAL FILE.

On motion of Mr. Guernsey the Senate resolved itself into a Committtee of the Whole for the consideration of bills on the general file, Mr. Thomas being called to the chair.

On rising the Committee of the Whole presented the following report:

MESSAGE FROM THE HOUSE.

The following message was received and read:
The Legislature of the State of Wyoming.
House of Representatives.

Hon. President of the Senate:

Cheyenne, Feb. 16, 1901.

Sir: I have the honor to inform your honorable body

that the following entitled Senate bill was this day read a third time, placed on its final passage and passed by the vote indicated:

S. F. No. 42, introduced by John McGill—“A bill for an act to amend and re-enact Sections 2178, 2180, and 2183 of the Revised Statutes of 1899, and to repeal Sections 2179, 2181, 2182, 2185, and 2186 of the Revised Statutes of 1899, relating to gaming," and amended as follows:

Amend Section 5 by striking therefrom all words in said section following the word "after" as it appears in the first line of said section and inserting in lieu of the words so stricken out the following words, to-wit: "The twenty-second day of February in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and two."

Passed.

Ayes, 24; noes, 12; absent, 0.

Said S. F. No. 42 is herewith returned to your honorable body and the concurrence in the amendments therein by your honorable body is respectfully requested.

CALL OF THE SENATE.

Mr. Guernsey moved a call of the Senate.

A roll call being had, showed the following members piesent:

Black, Brittain, Davis, Griffin, Guernsey, Hawk, Iredale, Madden, McBride, McGill, Nichols, Osmond, Rusk, Sullivan, Thomas, Verbryck, Williams, Mr. President-Present, 18.

Mr. Thomas moved that further proceedings under the call of the Senate be dispensed with.

The motion prevailed and it was so ordered.

Mr. President announced the following members of conference committee to confer with a like committee from the honorable House on amendments proposed by that body to Senate Files.

As conferees on S. F. No. 19, by Mr. Rusk, Messrs. Rusk, Madden and McBride.

As conferees on S. F. No. 32, by Mr. Nichols, Messrs. Nichols, Guernsey and Griffin.

Mr. McGill moved that the Senate do concur in the amendments proposed by the honorable House to S. F. No. 42.

A roll call being had on the motion to concur therein, the same prevailed by the following vote:

Roll call:

Ayes-Black, Brittain, Davis, Griffin, Guernsey, Hawk, Iredale, Madden. McBride, McGill, Nichols, Osmond, Rusk, Thomas, Verbryck, Mr. President-16.

Noes, Sullivan and Williams, 2; absent, 0.

And thereupon Mr. President declared that the Senate had concurred in the said amendments to S. F. No. 42.

MESSAGE FROM THE HOUSE.

The following message was received and read:

CONSIDERATION OF BILLS ON GENERAL FILE.

On motion of Mr. Guernsey the Senate again resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole for the purpose of considering bills on the general file, Mr. Thomas being again called to the chair.

MESSAGE FROM THE GOVERNOR.

To the Hon. President and Senate of the Sixth State Legislature:

Gentlemen:-I have the honor to make the following nominations as trustees of the Wyoming University and ask your consent that appointments may issue as provided by law:

Timothy F. Burke, of Laramie county; John C. Davis, of Carbon county, and Mortimer Jesurun, of Converse county, for a term of six years.

D. C. Bacon, of Albany county for a term of four years, vice M. C. Brown, resigned; John Beckwith, of Uinta county, for a term of four years, vice John A. Riner, resigned.

Mr. Davis moved the Senate do now advise, consent to and confirm the appointments of Timothy F. Burke, John C. Davis and Mortimer Jesurun as trustees of the Wyoming Uuniversity for a term of six years, and D. C. Bacon, for a term of four years, vice M. C. Brown, resigned, and John Beckwith, for a term of four years, vice John A. Riner, resigned.

A roll call being had on the motion to confirm said nominations, the same prevailed by the following vote:

Ayes Black, Britttain, Davis, Griffin, Guernsey, Hawk, Iredale, Madden, McBride, McGill, Nichols, Osmond, Rusk, Sullivan, Thomas, Verbryck, Williams, Mr. President-18. Noes, 0; absent, 0.

And thereupon Mr. President announced that the Senate had advised, consented to and confirmed the said appointments of university trustees.

Moved by Mr. Rusk that the Senate do now consent to, advise and confirm the nominations of William O. Steele, Timothy Kinney and J. M. Wilson as members of the State Board of Sheep Commissioners for a term of two years.

Moved by Mr. Thomas that the Senate do now advise, consent to and confirm the nomination of G. T. Seabury as state Veterinarian for a term of two years.

A roll call being had on the motion to confirm said nomination, the same resulted as follows:

On motion of Mr. Nichols the Senate again resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole for the purpose of resuming the consideration of bills on the general file.

Pending the report of the Committee of the Whole, the chairman of the House Enrollment Committee was announced with certain House Enrolled Acts for the signature of the president of the Senate.
