FIRST DAY.

Senate Chamber,
Cheyenne, Wyo., Jan. 8, 1901.

The hour of 12 o'clock, noon, on Tuesday, January 8, 1901,. having arrived, it being the hour designated by the Constitution of the State of Wyoming for the convening of the legislature, the members and members-elect of the Senate of the Sixth State Legislature assembled in the Senate Chamber of the capitol at Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Hon. John McGill of Albany county, president ad interim of the Senate of the Fifth State Legislature, called the members to order, and invited the Rev. Benj. Young of Cheyenne to invoke the Divine blessing.

On motion of Mr. Stone, Geo. W. Perry of Carbon county was elected temporary chief clerk of the Senate.

The roll was then called. The following senators holding over and whose term of office expire January 1, 1903, responded. to their names:

Wesley Brittain of Sheridan county.
Wilson McBride of Johnson county.

Joseph Iredale of Sweetwater county.
George Osmond of Uinta county.
David L. Rusk of Carbon county.

Edward W. Stone of Laramie county.

George G. Verbryck of Weston county.

John McGill of Albany county, president ad interim.

The following senators-elect responded to their names:
