METEOROLOGICAL REPORT FOR 1895.

The Meteorological work at the Experiment Station has consisted of three observations daily; morning, noon and night, (7 a. m., 2 p. m. and 9 p. m.)

The instruments used in my observations were as follows: (1) Barometer, (2) Attached Thermometer, (3) Hygrometer, (4) Maximum Thermometer, (5) Minimum Thermometer. Also aside from this is taken the percentage of clouds, the direction of the wind, and the amount of precipitation in rain or snow. We also have a meteorological clock, which has been broken and has not been running for about two months and is now in New York being repaired. I have had one instrument broken, also one stolen; both were Maximum Thermometers.

The new instruments I have received this year are as follows: (1) Maximum and Minimum Thermometers, (2) Hygrometer. There are many others which we need in this Department; for instance, a Weather Vane, which passing through the roof could be read at night. Also an Anemometer and a set of Soil Thermometers.

Now, as we have had trouble in having our instruments stolen and broken, I would suggest that they be placed in a meterological box and placed upon the roof of the Station, where they would be safe, and more easily taken care of, being altogether.

The reports sent out from this Station are monthly and weekly. The Weekly Report is a crop report, and is sent in every Monday. The Monthly Report is a general report for the whole month, and is sent in on the first of each month.

Also, before closing, I would suggest that a report should be handed in to some newspaper in the town, as is done in nearly all other towns where the meteorological observations are taken.
