Thy Works praise Thee. 1 ALL nature shows, in various ways, Her great Creator's praise; The young birds sing, while on the wing, In soft and pleasant lays. 2 The trees look gay, and seem to say, There is a God above; The sun's bright beams, the liquid streams, Say we are ruled by love. 3 The bleating flocks, with happy looks, Without his power, there's not an hour 4 And if the herds, and trees, and birds, It must not be that such as we 1 1 SING the mighty power of God, 2 I sing the wisdom that ordained The moon shines full at his command, 3 I sing the goodness of the Lord, He formed the creatures by his word, 4 There's not a plant or flower below, 1 ETERNAL Father, God of love, 2 Thine-wholly thine - O let us be! Made, and preserved, and saved by thee, 1 HAIL, great Creator — wise and good! To thee our songs we raise; Nature, through all her various scenes, 2 At morning, noon, and evening mild, 3 Thy glory beams in every star Which gilds the gloom of night, And decks the smiling face of morn With rays of cheerful light. 4 The lofty hill, the humble lawn, 5 Great nature's God! still may these scenes Our serious hours engage! How vast is thy power, thy glory how great! 2 Thy canopy's heaven, in splendor so bright! Thy chariot the clouds, thy garment the light. The works of creation thy bidding perform; storm. 3 What wisdom is shown, what power displayed, In all that thy hand hath fashioned and made!
