SENATE CHAMBER,
Lansing, January 14, 1881.

IN EXECUTIVE SESSION.

On motion of Mr. Farr,

The Senate went into Executive session at 10:40 A. M.

}

The President announced a message from the Governor transmitting nominations for the office of Notary Public.

Mr. Dow moved that a committee of five be appointed as a committee on Executive business;

Which motion prevailed.

The President appointed as such committee Senators Dow, Durkee, Chandler, Ambler and Caplis.

On motion of Mr. Farr,

The message was referred to the committee on Executive business.

The committee on Executive business submitted the following report: The committee on Executive business, to whom was referred the message of the Governor containing a list of nominations for the office of Notary Public, would respectfully report that they have had the same under consideration, and have carefully examined the list, and the committee have directed me to report the same back to the Senate, with the recommendation that the Senate do advise and consent to the several nominations made in the message as such Notaries Public for their respective counties, and ask to be discharged from the further consideration of the subject.

Report accepted and committee discharged.

Mr. Morrison moved that the Senate do advise and consent to the nominations as made by the Governor.
