Sat. 13. Mr. Richard Longford of Killilah, in the county of Limerick, was killed by one Owen Morify, as he was afleep in his chair by a stroke of a stick. The following has been experienced as a very advantageous Manner of rearing Calves, particularly for those, who cannot fpare their Milk from other Purpofes.

Let bean-meal be wrought to a pretty thick confiftence with water, and afterwards diluted with the fame, with which let the calves be fed in the place of milk. This has been profecuted with fuccefs, and the perfon who recommends it has feveral head of cattle reared in this way, which are as promifing as any other. It is to be prefumed that many of the dairy calves, will now be reared, when it can be done, with fo much advantage to the

proprietor, and that orders from abroad

for cattle have much encreased.

His Majefty's Speech on closing the Seffion of Parliament the Sixth of June

(omitted.)

My Lords and Gentlemen,
Tis with the utmost fatisfaction,
I that I have obferved the wildom
and moderation which have uniformly
guided you through the many important
deliberations, in which you have been en-
ged during the course of this long and
interefting feffion of parliament. I per-
fuade myself, that the most falutary ef-
fects must be the natural result of delibe-
rations conducted upon fuch principles.

Gentlemen of the House of Commons,
I thank you for the fupplies which you
have fo chearfully given for the feveral
establishments, and for the fupport of
public credit: and you may reft affured,
that no œconomy will be wanting to ren-
der them effectual for the purposes for
which they were granted.

My Lords and Gentlemen,

The prefent general difpofition of all
the powers in Europe feems to indicate a
continuance of peace: and it is my ear-
neft defire to preferve the general tran-
quillity by fulfilling, on my part, all the
engagements I am under by treaties. And
on this foundation, I may reasonably
hope and expect the fame ftrict perform-

ance of those engagements, which other
powers are under to my crown.

The many regulations which you have
made for extending and promoting the
trade and manufactures of Great Britain,
and for fettling the mutual intercourse of
my kingdoms and plantations, in fuch a
manner as to provide for the improvement
of my colonies, on a plan of due fubor-
dination to the commercial irerefts of the
mother country, are the ftrongeff proofs
of your equitable and comprehensive re-
gard to the welfare of my dominions; an
object truly worthy of a British parlia-

ment.

It shall be my endeavour, that such care
be taken, as may tend to fecure and im-
prove the advantages which may be ex-
pected from fuch wife and falutary provi-
fions.

I have nothing further to recommend
to you, than that you will exert your best
endeavours in your respective counties, to
enforce the execution of the laws, and to
promote good manners and good order
among my people; whofe true and lafting
happiness fhall be my conftant care, and
upon whofe affections I fhall always firm-
ly rely.
