LIBRARY REGULATIONS.

1. No book shall be taken from the Library except for review until it has been entered in the Library Catalogue.

2. No book or periodical of any kind, the property of the Institute, may be removed from the premises without reference to the Assistant Secretary, or other person in charge the Library for the time being.

3. No periodical or pamphlet pced on the table as an issue of current interest, may be remom the premises.

4. The number of volumes in the hands of any borrower at one time shall not exceed

there have been no enquiry ook the period of lending may be

be returned without fail, except that, should the book not have been
enquired for, the Executive Committee may extend the period of lending
in the case of members making special application. In such cases the
Executive Committee shall have before them the name of the member and
the title of the book or books in question.

7. Certain books of special rarity and value shall not be removed
from the premises except by permission of the Executive Committee.
Such books shall be kept under lock and key.

8. No index of any periodical shall be issued to any borrower.

9. A register shall be kept in which all borrowings of books shall be entered, the borrower (or the Assistant Secretary on his behalf, if the books are ordered through the post) signing for all the books taken out; in addition, the name of the borrower and the titles of the books shall be entered on three cards, for the purposes of record.

10. Under no circumstances may members lend books borrowed from the Library to other persons, whether these are Fellows of the Institute

or not.

11. If, or when, a member retains books which should have been returned, he shall not be entitled to borrow other books until he has complied with the regulations.

12. Members are responsible for all damage or loss in connection with books borrowed by them.

13. In making use of the Library, members are earnestly requested not to replace on the shelves books which have been removed from them. 14. No Fellows are allowed to borrow books except during their stay in the United Kingdom. A Fellow desirous of borrowing books whilst abroad must obtain special permission from the Executive Committee, and must in every case pay such a deposit (not less than £1) as they shall

direct.
