And when our armies do go forth, 10 Thou mak'ft us from the enemy, And they who hate us, for themselves 11 Like fleep for meat thou gavest us : 14 A by-word alfo thou doft us. 45 Before me my confufion And of bafhful countenance my the flame me ever hides. 16 For voice of lim that doth reproach, By reafon of th' avenging foe, 17 All this is come on us, yet we Nor fallly in thy covenant 18 Back from thy way our heart not turn'd; our steps no ftraying made. 19 Tho' us thou brak it in dragons' place, and cov'redit with death's fhade. 20 If we God's name forgot, or stretch'd to a strange God our hands: 21 Shall not God fearch this out? for he hearts fecrets underftands. 22 Yea, for thy fake we're kill'd all day, counted as flaughter-fheep. 23 Rife, Lord, caft us not ever off; 24 O wherefore hideft thou thy face? Our belly alfo on the earth, faft cleaving hold doth take. 26 Rife for our help, and us redeem, ev'n for thy mercies' fake.
