faid Jefus unto them plainly, Lazarus 15. is dead. And I am glad for your fakes that I was not there (to the intent ye may believe) nevertheless, let us go unto 16.bim. Then faid Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellow disciples, Let us alfo go, that we may dye with Bethany. 17. him. Then when Jefus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days 18. already. (Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerufalem, about fifteen furlongs off.) And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them con20. cerning their Brother. Then Martha, as foon as the heard that Jefus was coming, went and met him: but Mary 21. fat ftill in the houfe... Then faid Martha unto Jefus, Lord, if thou hadst been 22.bere, my brother had not died.

to weep there. Then when Mary was 32.
come where Jefus was, and faw him,

him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my
brother had not died. When Jefus there. 33,
fore faw her weeping, and the Jews al-
fo weeping which came with her, he
groaned in the Spirit, and was troubled,
And faid, Where have ye laid him? 34.
They fay unto him, Lord, come and
fee. Jefus wept. Then faid the Jews, 35.
Behold, how he loved him. And fome 36,
of them faid, Could not this man, which 37.

Jefus faid, Take ye away the ftone. Martha, the fifter of him that was dead, faith unto him, Lord, by this time he flinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40. Jefus faith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that if thou wouldeft believe, thou shouldeft 41. fee the glory of God? Then they took away the ftone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jefus lift up his eyes, and faid, Father, I thank thee that thou 42. haft beard me. And I knew that thou heareft me always but because of the people which ftand by, I faid it, that they may be 43. lieve that thou haft fent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud Miracle. 44. voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jefus faith unto them, Loofe him, and let him go.

Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had feen the things which 46. Jefus did, believed on him. But fome of them went their ways to the Phari fees, and told them what things Jefus 47. had done. Then gathered the chief Priefts and the Pharifees a council, and faid, What do we? for this man doth 48. many miracles. If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him; and the Romans fhall come and take away both
