A difference arose with the Contractor which delayed the final
payment under the Contract until after the close of the year. Total Estimate
The expenditure includes a payment of 2851. to an adjoining Expenditure to 31st March 1906
owner in full discharge of all claims for damage sustained by
his property by reason of the building operations.

It was expected that substantial progress would have been made

before the close of the previous year, but work could not be begun as early as had been hoped for, with the result that practically the whole cost falls upon 1905--6.

A dispute as to rights of light led to delay in the work towards

the close of 1904–5, and expenditure, which in the ordinary Total Estimate

The completion of the work was delayed with the result that (Total Estimate

expenditure, which it was thought would have fallen upon Expenditure to 31st March 1906
the previous year, became chargeable to the one now under
notice.

The expenditure to 31st March 1905 proved greater than had

been expected, the charge falling on this year being corre-
spondingly reduced. There is also a slight saving on the
total Estimate.
