The amount of receipts from the sale of Official Catalogues has been less than the Catalogues. Estimate. The suggestion of the Public Accounts Committee in paragraph 12 of their Second Report for 1906, for the charge of a Royalty on the sales of Unofficial Catalogues has been referred by the Treasury to the Trustees of The National Gallery for consideration. A Statement is appended to the Account, showing the Expenditure out of the Grant in Aid for the Purchase of Pictures (Sub-Head B.) and the balance in hand at the close of the year.
