Actual cost of Travelling was less than estimated.

Caused by the payment of taxed costs incurred by the Public Trustee in the

matter of Blacker-Douglass Trusts. E.-Saving 1167. 48. 7d.

Due to changes in the Solicitors' Staff and economies resulting therefrom

It is not possible to make a close estimate of this Expenditure.

Caused by the amount available for the payment of interest and sinking fund on Guaranteed 23 per cent. Stock, issued on account of the Land Purchase Aid F'und, being insufficient to the extent of the excess.

Loss on Unoccupied Holdings.-The loss in the year (681. 18s. 5d.) has been charged to the Vote 1905-6, under sanction of Treasury Letter of 20 July 1906 (12,937/06).

H.-Excess of Receipts 1717. 178. 1d. The costs recovered were greater than had been anticipated. Claims for costs against defaulting tenant purchasers, amounting to 4l. 1s. 11d., were abandoned with Treasury sanction.

Mr. C. Litton Falkiner, Legal Assistant Commissioner, received 691. 12s. for services as an Inspector under the Historical MSS. Commission.

Mr. B. J. O'Donnell, Staff Officer, received 361. from the County Court Officers (Ireland) Vote for services as Registrar to a Revising Barrister.

The Surplus of 1921. 13s. 10d., shown on the Account of the Vote "Irish Land Commission," for the year ended 31st March 1905, has been surrendered.

A.-Saving owing to temporary vacancy in the offices of Clerk of the Crown.

Bankruptcy, Co. Cork, E.R., and to the suspension of the salaries
attached to the two latter offices -

D.-Saving owing to abatement of 10 per cent. from the salaries of two of the Resident
Magistrates in respect of Army pensions

Saving owing to the full number of Magistrates estimated for not having drawn pay
during the whole year

E. Provision was made for 66 Magistrates, but the full number did not draw allowances during the whole year.

F.-Approximate Estimate.

G.-The Revision occupied somewhat less time than was anticipated.

H. -Increased receipts from Fees for préparation of Jurors' Lists owing to the union of the offices of Clerk of the Crown and Clerk of the Peace for the Counties of Antrim and Leitrim, and also from Fees taken in the local Courts of Bankruptcy, which fluctuate greatly and cannot be closely estimated.

EXTRA REMUNERATION.

The sum of 381. was paid to Mr. Joseph Wilson, Registrar to the Recorder of Belfast, for acting as Deputy Clerk of the Peace at the annual Revision Sessions.

The Surplus of 2,6861. 1s. 2d. shown on the Account of the Vote "County Court Officers, &c., Ireland, for the year ended 31st March 1905, has been surrendered.
