4. The amount, 3351. 12s. 5d., shown on both sides of the Account“ Commissioners of CommissionWorks Investment Account” represents the dividends received and re-invested in the ers of Works

Investment purchase of Stock, in accordance with the Battersea Park Amendment and Extension

Account. Act 1851 (14 and 15 Vict. c. 77, Sec. 16), which provided for the creation of a “Fund for Improvements in the Metropolis.” On the 1st April 1905 the Fund consisted of 13,9931

. -8. 108. Consols, and by the addition of 3731. 158.-d. Consols purchased during the

year, the total amount of Stock held in respect of this Fund on 31st March 1906 was raised to 14,3661. 158. 10d.

The Expenditure out of this Grant is necessarily of an uncertain character, and cannot be

accurately estimated.

The Surplus of 27,545l. 198. 2d. shown on the Account of the Vote “Secret Service," for the yoar ended 31st March 1905, has been surrendered. Treasury,
