REPORT OF THE COMPTROLLER AND AUDITOR GENERAL. 1. ExPENDITURE in excess of the Estimate has taken place under Sub-Heads A, B, D and G. 2. The Sub-Head Ha has been re-opened to record a small sum expended in connec tion with the Royal Visit in 1904. 3. A detailed Statement of the Expenditure under Sub-Head B, “New Works,” is appended to the Account. From this it appears that the gross under-expenditure was 22,1131. 8s. 5d., and the gross over-expenditure 23,737 l. 11s. 4d. where required, has been obtained for special works not estimated for and for excesses.
