Lansing, December 20, 1900.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment and was called to order by the President pro tem.

The roll of the Senate was called by the Secretary.

Present: Senators Atwood, Blakeslee, Collingwood, Giddings, Graham, Helme, Humphrey, Latimer, Leidlein, Lyon, McGraw, McMullen, Monaghan, Perren, Potter, Sayre, Sheldon, A. G. Smith, Charles Smith, President pro tem.

Absent with leave: Senators Brown, Flood, Maitland, Milliken, Wagar.

Absent without leave: Senators Baker, Davis, Heald, Moore, Stoll, Wagner, Ward.

On motion of Mr. Sheldon, leave of absence was granted to the absentees from today's session, except Mr. Stoll.

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

By the committee on Supplies and Expenses:

The committee on Supplies and Expenses have had under consideration the following account:

Dr. McMillan, for 8 gallons mineral water, $1.70

And have directed me to recommend that the account be allowed and ordered paid.

Report accepted and adopted.

MESSAGES FROM THE HOUSE.

The following message from the House was received and read:

To the President of the Senate:

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, Lansing, December 20, 1900.

Sir I am instructed by the House to return to the Senate the following concurrent resolution:

Resolved (the House concurring), That from and after Thursday, the 20th day of December, inst., the two houses of the Legislature will transact no other business than for the President of the Senate and Speaker of the House to sign enrolled bills for presentation to the Governor, and the entry of the same on the Journal by the Secretary of the Senate and Clerk of the House, and the time of final adjournment of the Legislature shall be Saturday, December 22, at 12 o'clock noon of that day, In the adoption of which the House has concurred.

Mr Latimer moved that when the Senate adjourn today, it stand adjourned until Saturday next at 11:45 a. m.

The motion prevailed.

The President pro tem. announced that, under authority given him by Senate rule No. 2, he would designate Senator Collingwood as Acting President of the Senate for the session of the Senate to be held December 22d.

Mr. Graham moved that the Senate adjourn.

The motion prevailed, and the President pro tem. declared the Senate adjourned until December 22 at 11:45 o'clock a. m.

Mr Humphrey moved that the Senate adjourn.

The motion prevailed, and the acting President declared the Senate adjourned sine die.
