The following statement showing the average productions of the several Counties in this State has been prepared for the purpose of showing in a condensed form the average production of some of the great staples of the Mississippi valley, It will be observed that tie average number of pounds of wool per sheep is very small in some of the Counties. In Pottawattamie county, for instance, the average is less than one half pound. This arises from the failure to report the number of pounds of wool actually clipped. We suppose the sheep in that county are as good as in any other county of the State. Again in Marshall county the average number of bushels of Winter wheat is very small. This arises from the failure of the Township Assessors to get a correct return from the farmers. This table reveals to our farmers some facts in reference to what branches of Agriculture are most likely to prove remunerative. ADAMS COUNTY.
